What Cookies Are
Cookies and similar technologies store or access information on your device. They can help a website function, remember preferences, measure usage, or support affiliate attribution.
Cookie Categories
- Strictly necessary: required for security, routing, basic site function, and consent preferences.
- Analytics: used to understand traffic and improve the website. These should not run before consent where consent is required.
- Affiliate tracking: may be used by retailers or affiliate networks after you click out to a retailer.
- Advertising/retargeting: not intended for launch unless reviewed and added to consent controls.
- Preferences: used to remember user choices where enabled.
Consent
ToolRancher should request consent before setting non-essential cookies or similar technologies. Users should be able to accept, reject, manage, and later change non-essential cookie choices.
The site stores your consent choice in first-party browser storage under toolrancher_cookie_consent_v1. This is treated as strictly necessary because it records your cookie preference and prevents repeated prompts.
Third Parties
Vercel provides hosting and consent-gated web analytics. Supabase provides the product database and API. When you leave ToolRancher, participating affiliate networks such as Awin and the destination retailer may use their own attribution technologies under their own policies. ToolRancher does not currently load advertising or retargeting pixels on its pages.
Cookie Settings
